Video Editor
Zidi includes a browser-based video editor for trimming, adding overlays, changing layouts, and rendering polished videos.
Opening the Editor
- Click Edit on any video in your workspace.
- For recordings, click Edit in Editor from the video detail page.
Timeline
The timeline panel shows your video tracks:
- Video track — The main recording with trim handles.
- Layout track — Layout changes over time (PiP, side-by-side, full camera).
- Overlay track — Images, text, and media overlays with start/end times.
Layout Changes
Change the recording layout at any point in the timeline:
- Picture-in-Picture — Camera bubble over screen content.
- Side-by-Side — Equal split between screen and camera.
- Full Screen — Screen recording only.
- Full Camera — Camera recording only.
Overlays
Add visual elements on top of your video:
- Images — Logos, screenshots, diagrams.
- Text — Titles, annotations, callouts.
- Shapes — Rectangles, circles for highlighting.
Each overlay can be positioned, resized, and timed on the timeline.
Aspect Ratio
Change the output aspect ratio:
- 16:9 — Standard widescreen (YouTube, presentations).
- 9:16 — Vertical (Instagram Reels, TikTok, Shorts).
- 4:3 — Classic format.
- 1:1 — Square (social media).
Background Music
Add royalty-free background music from the built-in library. Adjust volume to blend with your original audio.
Rendering
When you're done editing, click Render to process your video. Rendering happens in the cloud using Remotion — you can close the browser and come back when it's ready.
