Chrome Extension
The Zidi Chrome Extension lets you record your screen, camera, or both directly from your browser. Recordings are automatically uploaded to your workspace.
Installation
- Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for Zidi.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access.
- Click the Zidi icon and sign in with your account.
Recording Modes
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Full Screen | Records your entire screen. Choose which monitor if you have multiple. |
| Current Tab | Records only the active browser tab, including tab audio. |
| Region | Select a custom rectangle area to record. |
Camera Options
- Camera overlay — Toggle your webcam on/off during recording.
- Camera position — Place the camera bubble in any corner.
- Camera shape — Circle or rounded rectangle.
- Camera size — Resize the camera overlay by dragging.
Drawing & Annotations
While recording, use the toolbar to:
- Draw freehand with customizable colors and stroke width.
- Add shapes (rectangles, circles, arrows).
- Highlight areas with a spotlight effect.
- Add text annotations.
Settings
- Microphone — Select your audio input device.
- Camera — Select your webcam.
- Quality — Choose recording quality (720p, 1080p, 4K).
- Countdown — Enable/disable the 3-second countdown.
- Auto-upload — Recordings upload to your workspace automatically.
Troubleshooting
- No audio captured? — Make sure you allowed microphone permissions and selected the correct input device.
- Camera not showing? — Check camera permissions in Chrome settings (
chrome://settings/content/camera). - Extension not loading? — Try disabling other recording extensions that may conflict.
