AI credits

Credits pay for AI dubbing and the Voice Changer. You buy them in packs, and they never expire. Every other AI feature is free to use.

Available on: Free, Starter and Pro

No plan includes credits. Starter and Pro do not come with a monthly allowance. Your balance only grows when you buy a pack.

Credit packs

Each pack is a one-time purchase. You can buy packs on any plan, including Free.

PackName in the appPrice
300 creditsHOBBY Plan$29
800 creditsPRO Plan$49
1,800 creditsPREMIUM Plan$99

The pack names end in "Plan", but they are not subscription plans. Buying the "PRO Plan" pack gives you 800 credits. It does not upgrade you to the Pro plan. While a limited-time deal runs, the larger packs also show a crossed-out price.

Buy credits

  1. In the sidebar, click Billing. On the Dubbing Credits card, click Add Credits. On a paid plan you can also click Credits on the plan card at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. If Billing says your billing is managed by the workspace owner, there is no Add Credits button there. Click Credits on the plan card at the bottom of the sidebar if you see it. Otherwise, open one of your own videos with Open in Editor and start a voice change or dub. If your balance is too low, the Insufficient Credits dialog opens. Click Add Credits there.
  3. In Select Credit Package, pick a pack and click Continue.
  4. In Billing Information, fill in your details and click Complete Purchase.
  5. Pay on our payment provider's checkout page. You then return to Billing.

Zidi shows "Payment received! Verifying your credits..." and then "Credits added to your account!". You also get an email that your credits are ready.

The Dubbing Credits card shows your Available Credits, with the notes "Purchased separately" and "Never expire". Credits stay in your account if you change or cancel your plan.

What costs credits

Two features use credits. Both charge per started minute of the video, based on the video's length.

On an edited copy ("… - Edited"), the dub or new voice is made from the original video's full audio. So the cost and the 2-hour limit use the original's full length, or the copy's own length if that is longer. Trimming the copy does not lower them.

The same goes for a recording you trimmed with Edit in Editor and saved. The whole recording is dubbed or re-voiced, so the cost and the 2-hour limit use its full recorded length.

FeatureCostPlans
AI dubbing20 credits per started minuteStarter and Pro
Voice Changer10 credits per started minuteFree, Starter and Pro

"Per started minute" means the length is rounded up. A 61-second video counts as 2 minutes, so dubbing it costs 40 credits. A 300-credit pack covers 15 minutes of dubbing or 30 minutes of voice changing.

Both features work on videos up to 2 hours long. The button shows the cost before you start, for example Generate Dubbing (40 credits) or Apply Voice (20 credits).

What is free

These AI features never use credits, on any plan:

  • captions and transcripts
  • summaries, key points and chapters
  • translation of transcripts, summaries and subtitles
  • chat with a video (Starter and Pro)
  • AI Cleanup, which removes filler words and silence

Some of these are covered by the daily AI usage limit instead.

If a job fails

  • AI dubbing takes credits only when the dub is ready. A dub that fails costs nothing.
  • Voice Changer takes credits after the new voice is made and before it is added to your video. If it then cannot be added, the same number of credits goes back to your balance. A job that fails earlier costs nothing.

If the payment for a credit pack is fully refunded or reversed, those credits are removed from your balance. Your balance never goes below zero.

If you do not have enough credits

Zidi checks your balance before it starts. If it is too low, a dialog titled Insufficient Credits opens. It shows the credits Required, Available and the Shortage. Click Add Credits to buy a pack without leaving the page, or View Plans to open Billing in a new tab.

On Free, you may see Insufficient Credits when you try to dub a video. Dubbing also needs Starter or Pro, so buying credits alone is not enough to dub on Free.

Credits and teams

Credits belong to your own workspace. Dubbing and voice changes on your videos always use your own balance, even if you are on someone else's team. Adding a video to a Team Library does not change this.

If you are on someone else's team and your own plan is Free, Billing shows the owner's balance as Shared Dubbing Credits, "Shared across all team members". You cannot spend that balance on your own videos. To add credits to your own balance, see Buy credits.

See who used credits

  1. In the sidebar, click Billing, then the Credit Usage tab.
  2. The tab shows your balance, Total Credits Used This Month, and Credit Usage by Member.
  3. Each member's usage is split into "AI Dubbing" and "Voice Change".

Credit purchases also appear on the History tab. See Invoices and billing history.

Daily AI usage limit

Some free AI features have a safety limit per person. It counts your usage over the last 24 hours, on a rolling basis. It is not a monthly quota, and it does not use credits.

The limit covers:

  • chat with a video, including suggested questions
  • Enhance Summary and Smart Chapters
  • translating a transcript, a summary or subtitles

Captions, the summary Zidi makes automatically after captions, AI dubbing, the Voice Changer and AI Cleanup are not limited by it.

Starter allows five times the Free amount, and Pro allows ten times the Free amount. There is no meter that shows how much you have used.

When you reach the limit, Zidi shows this message:

Daily AI usage limit reached. It resets on a rolling 24-hour window.

Where you see it depends on the feature:

  • In chat, the message appears as the reply, with a "Failed to send message" notice.
  • For translation, it appears as an error notice.
  • Smart Chapters shows "Failed to generate chapters" instead.
  • Enhance Summary shows no message. The summary simply does not change.
  • Suggested chat questions do not appear.

What to do: wait. As your older usage passes the 24-hour mark, the features start working again. Other features keep working in the meantime.

Troubleshooting

"Payment received but still processing"

Your payment went through, but the credits are not on your balance yet. Wait a minute and refresh Billing, or click Check now in the notice. If the credits still do not appear, contact support.

"Dubbing is limited to videos under 2 hours."

Dubbing and voice changing work on videos up to 2 hours. The Voice Changer shows "Voice change is limited to videos under 2 hours." Use a video shorter than 2 hours.
