Claude and ChatGPT
Connect your Zidi account to Claude or ChatGPT once. Then ask for your recordings, transcripts, viewer analytics and campaigns in plain language.
Available on: Free, Starter and Pro
Every tool below works on every plan, within your plan's usual limits. Only one action needs Pro: creating a campaign that Copper sends for you. See Campaigns sent from Copper.
What the assistant can do
You ask in plain language, and the assistant picks the tool. Zidi gives it these 10 tools.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_recordings | Lists your recent recordings. You can narrow the list by title or date. |
search_recordings | Finds recordings by a word in the title, description or transcript. |
get_recording | Shows one recording's details and its saved summary. |
get_transcript | Returns the words spoken in a recording, with their timings. |
get_recording_analytics | Shows views, watch time, completion and CTA clicks for a recording, for the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or all time. |
get_engaged_viewers | Shows who watched past a percentage you choose, for a recording, a campaign or your whole account. |
list_campaigns | Lists your campaigns, newest first, with their status. |
get_campaign | Shows one campaign's engagement: recipients, views, watch percentage and CTA clicks. |
create_share_link | Creates a share link for a recording. If you give a recipient's email, it also creates a tracked link for that person. |
create_campaign | Creates a campaign as a draft only. It does not launch it. |
The tools work only with the Zidi account you connected. They generate nothing: a summary or transcript is the one Zidi already has. No tool sends anything to anyone. A share link is created, not sent, and a campaign is created as a draft only.
Connect in Claude
Zidi is listed in Claude's connector directory. Connect it once on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, and the Claude mobile app uses it too.
- Open Zidi in Claude's connector directory.
- Click Connect. If you are signed out of Claude, the button reads Sign in to add.
- Sign in to Zidi when Claude asks you to.
- On Zidi's consent screen, check the account email and click Allow access.
You can also find Zidi from inside Claude. Open Customize → Connectors, select Discover, search for Zidi, and continue from step 2.
Claude Team and Enterprise plans
On these plans, an Owner adds connectors for the whole organization. Ask an Owner to add Zidi under Organization settings → Connectors. Then open Customize → Connectors, find Zidi and click Connect. On a Team plan, if you see Request instead of a connect button, click it to send the request to your Owners.
Connect in Claude Code
- In a terminal, run this command:
claude mcp add --transport http zidi https://app.zidi.ai/api/mcp - In Claude Code, type
/mcp, choose zidi and select Authenticate (Claude Code labels it Re-authenticate while the server still shows as connected). Claude Code shows the server as connected before you sign in, because listing the tools needs no account; the first tool that needs your account asks you to sign in. - Your browser opens Zidi. Sign in if asked, check the account email and click Allow access.
The consent screen says "Connect this app to Zidi" and names "An app on this computer" instead of Claude Code. That is expected: Claude Code runs on your computer, so Zidi sends the sign-in back to it there. If the browser does not open, Claude Code shows a link you can open yourself.
By default, Claude Code adds Zidi to the current project only. Add --scope user to the command to use Zidi in all your projects.
Connect in ChatGPT
Zidi is not listed in the ChatGPT directory, so you add it as a custom MCP server.
- Open chatgpt.com/plugins and click Add.
- Choose Create custom MCP server.
- Enter Zidi as the name and
https://app.zidi.ai/api/mcpas the Server URL. - Set Authentication to OAuth, then click Create.
- Click Link account and sign in to Zidi if asked.
- On Zidi's consent screen, check the account email and click Allow access.
What the consent screen shows
The first time an assistant connects, Zidi shows a consent screen with:
- Who is asking. The assistant's name and address, for example Claude (claude.ai) or ChatGPT (chatgpt.com). Zidi takes them from the address it sends you back to, not from the name the app gives itself.
- Your account. The email of the Zidi account you are signed in to.
- What the assistant will be able to do.
- Read your recordings, transcripts, viewer analytics and campaigns
- Create share links and draft campaigns (nothing is sent)
- Stay connected without signing in again (until you disconnect, or after 30 days without use)
Click Allow access to connect, or Cancel to stop. If the email is not the account you want, click Cancel, sign in to the right account at app.zidi.ai, and connect again.
For Claude Code, the screen names an app on this computer and asks you to continue only if you started the connection yourself.
Disconnect
To disconnect, remove Zidi in the assistant:
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, find Zidi and click Remove.
- In Claude Code, run
claude mcp remove zidi, or type/mcp, choose zidi and select Clear authentication to sign out but keep the server. - In ChatGPT, remove the Zidi plugin.
Zidi has no button of its own for disconnecting an assistant. Changing your Zidi password or clicking Sign out of all devices in Account Settings does not disconnect one either.
Troubleshooting
- Claude tells you to connect your Zidi account but shows no Connect card. Claude received Zidi's message, "Connect your Zidi account to use this tool.", as plain text, so it did not start the sign-in. Remove the Zidi connector in Customize → Connectors, then add it again as in Connect in Claude.
- "Invalid authorization request" with "This application is not allowed to connect to Zidi." Zidi does not accept this app, or the address it wants to send you back to. Email support@zidi.ai and say which assistant you used.
- A 401 error right after you linked Zidi. Zidi did not accept the assistant's sign-in. Sign in again: in Claude, click Connect when Claude asks; in Claude Code, run
/mcp; in ChatGPT, link the account again.
