Tracking pixels
Add your analytics or ad pixel to your shared video pages. Zidi then reports plays, halfway views, completions and CTA clicks to that platform.
Available on: Pro
Zidi supports 7 platforms. You can add one ID per platform, and all 7 can run at the same time.
- Google Analytics 4
- Google Tag Manager
- Meta Pixel
- LinkedIn Insight Tag
- X (Twitter) Pixel
- TikTok Pixel
- Pinterest Tag
Where pixels run
Pixels load only on your shared video pages. That is the page people see when they open a video link from Copy link or Share. It includes the same page when you embed the video on your website.
Pixels do not load on:
- personal campaign pages
- published webpages, including ones on a custom domain
- your Zidi dashboard
Your IDs apply to every video you share. Zidi's own events carry only the event name. The platform's base code also records the page, as it does on any website, including the page title (your video's title) and the page address.
The viewer consent banner
When you add any pixel, viewers of your shared video pages see a banner at the bottom of the page:
This page uses cookies for analytics and marketing to help the creator understand engagement. You can accept or decline non-essential tracking.
The banner has two buttons, Decline and Accept.
Nothing loads until the viewer clicks Accept
No pixel script loads and no event is sent until the viewer clicks Accept. If they click Decline or ignore the banner, the platforms get nothing from that visit.
The browser remembers the choice for 365 days. So your platform reports count only viewers who accepted. When you test your own pixel, click Accept first.
Tracking consent may not work inside an embed on another website. If you rely on pixel data, share the link instead of the embed code, and test on the shared link.
Add a pixel
- In the sidebar, click Integrations.
- Click the card for your platform. Use the Analytics filter to see only the 7 pixel cards.
- Paste your ID into the field.
- Click the Connect button, for example Connect Meta Pixel. You see a message such as "Meta Pixel connected".
The card then shows Connected. The exact field name, ID format and button for each platform are in the sections below.
Not on Pro?
On Free or Starter, clicking the Connect button opens an upgrade dialog. Click Upgrade Plan to go to Billing.
Events Zidi sends
After the viewer clicks Accept, each platform's base code loads. Most platforms record their own page view at that point. Then Zidi sends these events:
| Zidi event | Sent when |
|---|---|
video_start | The viewer presses play, including after a pause |
video_progress | Playback passes 50%, once per page visit. Some multi-track recordings do not send this event. |
video_complete | The video plays to the end |
cta_click | The viewer clicks your call-to-action button |
Zidi does not send a separate page_view event. Some pixel pages in Zidi list 5 events, including a page view. The 4 events above are the ones Zidi sends.
Each platform receives these events under its own names:
| Platform | video_start | video_progress | video_complete | cta_click |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | video_start | video_progress | video_complete | cta_click |
| Google Tag Manager | video_start | video_progress | video_complete | cta_click |
| Meta Pixel | ViewContent | InitiateCheckout | Lead | Schedule |
| LinkedIn Insight Tag | video_start | video_progress | video_complete | cta_click |
| X Pixel | ViewContent | Not sent | Lead | Lead |
| TikTok Pixel | ViewContent | SubmitForm | Contact | ClickButton |
| Pinterest Tag | viewcategory | Not sent | lead | lead |

Troubleshooting
The platform shows no data
- Open a shared video link, not a campaign link or a published webpage.
- Click Accept on the banner. If you clicked Decline earlier, the browser remembers it. Use a private window to test again.
- Play the video. Zidi sends its events only on play, halfway, completion and CTA click.
- Check that your account is on Pro.
- Turn off tracker blockers in your browser while you test.
