Your video library

My Library holds every video you record, upload or save from the editor. This page shows how to find, organise, download and delete them.

Available on: Free, Starter and Pro. Downloading needs Starter or Pro.

Open your library

  1. In the sidebar, click My Library.
  2. Use the Videos tab for videos that are not in a folder. Use the Folders tab for your folders.
  3. Click a video card to open its video page.

The library shows 20 videos at a time. The most recently edited videos come first. To see more, click Load More Videos at the bottom of the list.

Labels on a video card

LabelMeaning
ProcessingZidi is still preparing the video.
UnavailableThe video file is missing and cannot play.
Shared to and a library nameThe video is shared to that Team Library.

A card also shows the title, how long ago the video was made, the like count and the folder name. A video with no title shows "Untitled Video".

  1. Open My Library, or open a folder.
  2. Type in the Search videos... box.

Search matches video titles only. It does not search descriptions, transcripts, folder names or who made the video. Upper and lower case do not matter, and part of a word is enough.

Search looks only at the list you are viewing. On the Videos tab it finds videos that are not in a folder. Inside a folder it finds videos in that folder. The header then reads "3 videos found", with your own number.

Organise videos in folders

Create and rename a folder

  1. In My Library, click Create Folder at the top right.
  2. Zidi creates a folder named "New Folder" straight away and shows the Folders tab.
  3. To rename it, double-click the folder name, type the new name, then click anywhere outside the name.

Click a folder card to open it and see its videos.

Delete a folder

  1. Open the Folders tab.
  2. Click the trash icon on the folder card.
  3. Confirm with Delete.

Deleting a folder does not delete its videos. They move back to the Videos tab. To delete several folders at once, hover over each folder card, tick its checkbox, and delete them together.

Move videos into a folder

  1. Hover over a video card and click the … menu.
  2. Click Move....
  3. Under New Location, pick a folder from Select Folder.
  4. Click Move Video.

If you have no folders yet, the dialog says "No folders available". Create a folder first.

Moving a video out of a folder

The move dialog lists folders only. It has no option to move a video back to the Videos tab. You can move it to another folder instead.

To bring videos back to the Videos tab, delete the folder. Every video in that folder moves back, and none are deleted. You can then create a new folder for the videos you want to keep together.

The video card menu

Hover over a video card and click … at the top right. You see only the items you are allowed to use.

Menu itemWhat it does
Copy LinkCopies the video's share link.
Share via EmailOpens your email app with the share link.
RenameChanges the title and description. The description box starts empty. Leave it empty to keep the current description.
Move...Moves the video into a folder.
Edit in EditorOpens this video in the editor and changes it in place.
Remove from LibraryTeam Libraries only. Unshares the video.
DeleteDeletes the video for good. Owner only.

Edit in Editor appears on every video you recorded in the browser or with the extension, and on edited copies. It edits that video itself: saving replaces it, and AI Tools change it too. No copy is made. To keep the original, open the video and use Open in Editor instead. That edits a copy and never changes the original. See Edit a copy.

See Open the editor for how the two differ. For Team Libraries, see Team libraries.

Change a title or description

You can do this from the library or from the video page.

  • From the library: open the card menu and click Rename. The Rename Video dialog opens.
  • From the video page: click the edit icon next to the title. The Edit video details dialog opens. Only the video's author sees the edit icon.

Change the Title and Description, then click Update. A title needs at least 5 characters. A description can be up to 5,000 characters.

Move or delete several videos at once

  1. Hover over a video card and tick the checkbox at its top left.
  2. Tick more cards, or click Select All in the bar that appears.
  3. Click Move or Delete in the bar.

You can move or delete up to 100 videos in one go. A bulk delete skips videos that a campaign uses and videos you do not own. The message tells you how many were skipped.

Download a video

Available on: Starter and Pro

  1. Open the video page.
  2. Click Download next to the video title.

What you get depends on the video:

  • A video you have not edited downloads as the original file. It keeps its own format, such as MP4, WebM or MOV. The file name is the video title.
  • A video with editor changes, dubbing or a changed voice is rendered as an MP4 first, unless a finished render already exists. The button shows progress, and the download starts when the render is done. Keep the page open until then.

There is no choice of format or resolution. See Export an edited video for the MP4 sizes.

On the Free plan, Download opens a Download Videos dialog that asks you to upgrade. You can still share the video with its link. See Share a video.

Delete a video

Deleting is permanent

There is no trash and no way to restore a deleted video. Download a copy first if you might need it.

  1. In My Library, hover over the video card and click ….
  2. Click Delete.
  3. In the Delete Video dialog, click Delete Video.

Only the owner of a video can delete it.

When a campaign uses the video

Zidi will not delete a video that a campaign uses. This protects the campaign, its recipients and its analytics. You see one of these messages:

  • "This video is referenced by a campaign. Delete or detach the campaign first."
  • "This video belongs to a recently deleted campaign that can still be restored. It becomes deletable once that campaign is purged."

For the first message, delete the campaign. If the campaign is still a draft, you can pick a different video for it instead. For the second message, wait. A deleted campaign is kept for 30 days and then removed for good. After that you can delete the video. See Campaigns.

Set a custom thumbnail

The thumbnail is the picture shown in your library, on shared links, in emails and in link previews on sites like Slack.

  1. Open the video page.
  2. In the Custom Thumbnail card, click Upload Thumbnail.
  3. Pick a JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP image of 10 MB or less.

To change it, click Replace. To remove it, click the ✕ on the image. Link previews also show the video title and description. For a password-protected video, previews show "Password-Protected Video" instead of the title.

Add a call-to-action button

A call-to-action button sends viewers to a link of your choice, such as a booking page.

  1. On the video page, find the card that says "No CTA configured yet" and click Add CTA.
  2. Enter a Button label, such as "Book a demo".
  3. Enter a Destination link that starts with https:// or http://.
  4. Click Save CTA.

Viewers see the button on the video's share page. The card shows how many clicks it has had. Use Edit CTA to change it, Remove to hide it but keep the text, or Delete to clear it. For more viewer data, see Analytics.

Chapters

Chapters split a video into labelled sections, each with a start time. You create them on the video page in the Video Intelligence card, under Smart Chapters. The video needs a transcript first. See Video Intelligence for the steps.

Viewers see chapters as a list in the Summary tab next to the video. Each chapter shows its start time and title. The list is for reading only. Clicking a chapter does not jump the video, and chapters are not marked on the player's progress bar. The Smart Chapters card says viewers can "skip to" sections, but today they need to move the player to that time themselves.
